The Madrid Municipal Transport Company (EMT) is a public limited company owned by the Madrid City Council. EMT is the overall manager of surface transportation in the city of Madrid and is responsible for the management and operation of urban bus services; the public bicycle system (Bicimad); the municipal towing service; public and resident parking facilities; and the cable car. EMT is part of the Madrid Regional Transport Consortium, the authority responsible for public transport planning in Madrid.
