It is coordinated by the company ETRA, with the participation, among others, of the Madrid City Council, Berlin City Council, Prague City Council, Comune di Firenze, Mechelen City Council, Funchal City Council (Madeira), POLIS, EIT KIC Urban Mobility, DHL and Lancaster University. The project will develop 3 software tools that EMT will test in the framework of the municipal strategic objective of promoting microhubs/Mobility hubs in car parks. It started on 1 May 2023 and will run for 42 months (until 31 October 2026).
New MOBility solutions for clImate neutrality in EU cITIES
A project of the Horizon Europe programme in the framework of the European Commission's "Climate Neutral Cities Mission", which aims to demonstrate that innovative passenger and freight mobility concepts designed and implemented according to participatory and user-centred principles are cost-effective and viable solutions to significantly contribute to the transformation of cities towards climate neutrality.
Madrid (Spain) and Dresden (Germany) will launch 11 pilot projects including 27 highly innovative solutions for passenger and freight mobility, exploiting the combined potential of electrification, automation and connectivity, from the design to the implementation and evaluation stages, acting as Lead Cities (LC).
It started on 1 January 2024 and will run for 5 years until 31 December 2028.
Project with EIT Urban Mobility addressing aspects of Urban Logistics. EMT's role is to facilitate the project by providing a space (area in a car park) to facilitate the implementation of a data standard for the interoperability of solutions between different operators in a microhub, provided by EMT, in the framework of the municipal strategic objective of the project.
European Bus Rapid Transit of 2030, electrified, automated, connected
Horizon Europe programme project that started in January 2023 and will end in December 2026. Coordinated by UITP (Union Internationale des Transports Publics), it aims to create a new generation of fully electric and advanced urban and peri-urban Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) corridors, enhanced with novel automation and connectivity functionalities, to support sustainable, automated and connected urban transport. EMT Madrid is part of the so-called "User Group" of the Project.
