CSR annual reports

Empresa Municipal de Transportes de Madrid (EMT) bases its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Policy on the principles of transparency, ethics, respect for the principle of legality and respect for human rights. This policy is also underpinned by values such as honesty, rigour, loyalty, solidarity and tolerance with respect to the general public as a whole, values that are manifested in the following spheres of action:

Strategy, Management and Transparency

1. Strategic Planning, assessing and following-up on results to detect opportunities for continuous improvement.
2. Integrating Corporate Responsibility into company strategy as a cross-over element.
3. Encouraging relations, dialogue and transparency with the general public.
4. Identifying, analysing and managing Business Risks, particularly reputation-related ones.
5. Promoting responsible advertising and marketing, boosting the image of the EMT brand so as to make it easily recognisable, highlighting the excellence of the service provided.
6. Promoting technological innovation and development.
7. Encouraging and disseminating sustainable urban mobility.
8. Including Universal Accessibility in all spheres of EMT activity.
9. Contributing to the complete safety of our transport system (logical, operational and road safety).

Good Governance and Ethics

1. Acting pursuant to a commitment to ethics by establishing codes of conduct.
2. Promoting responsible public procurement based on criteria such as: transparency, objectivity, equality and management efficiency.
3. Guiding company policies towards sustainable development.
4. Observing the principles of the United Nations Global Compact.

Customers and Society

1. Boosting Universal Accessibility and the Design for All in the integrated planning of company services.
2. Promoting good relations with the general public and with companies and professional associations in our sector.
3. Encouraging active participation in joint projects aimed at promoting social cohesion and sustainable development.

The Environment

1. Promoting active measures to respect and preserve the environment and fight against climate change.
2. Encouraging improvements to air quality by means of initiatives aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
3. Implementing energy efficiency policies and actions that focus on all company activities.
4. Promoting the streamlining and maximisation of resource use.
5. Managing generated waste appropriately, paying special attention to the preservation of waterways and soil.

Human Resources
