The comprehensive refurbishment of the Madrid Cable Car, managed by EMT, will not only transform the city landscape but also enhance the visitor experience in the capital and update one of Madrid’s iconic landmarks. With a strong commitment to digitalisation, sustainability and offering an immersive experience, the project aims to renovate a historic infrastructure (opened in 1969) and re-purpose it to meet the needs and expectations of today’s residents and visitors.
Funding for this project, provided by the NextGenerationEU funds and managed by the Ministry of Industry and Tourism as part of its Plans for Sustainable Destination Tourism, amounts to €595,386.70 and covers only the drafting of the approved construction drawings. This first draft phase includes developing the project using the BIM (Building Information Modelling) methodology, which involves creating a 3D digital replica to facilitate subsequent construction and operational work.
