Charging facility and technological equipment
EMT Madrid, with the support of Madrid City Council, manages the Canalejas 360 electric mobility hub in its process of consolidation as an innovative, green and energetically sustainable organisation. This underground infrastructure is located on floor minus 1 of Madrid's Canalejas car park and is a benchmark space for sustainable mobility in general and electromobility in particular.
The hub provides a recharging service to electric mobility vehicles, as EMT is constituted as a public charging manager and includes electric recharging in its range of mobility services. Users can access, activate, reserve and pay for electric charging via the Electro-EMT smartphone app. The app also provides directions to the chosen charging station, as well as access to the history of recharges and invoices.
The hub also offers a wide range of electromobility and micro-logistics services (promoting last-mile urban distribution with electric vehicles and the installation of lockers for the collection of parcels). It also has the EMT BiciPark bicycle parking system that allows storage of up to 14 bikes; a secure parking and recharging station for scooters with a capacity to house and recharge 8 scooters and a vehicle washing service.
The Canalejas electric station’s features and capacities allow it to take another step forward in electrification -a key aspect for EMT- occupying a central place in the hub and constituting an infrastructure that responds to Madrid's mobility planning and management needs.
The electric station has a total of 17 recharging points and an installed capacity of 2.7MW. Four of these points are state-of-the-art ultra-fast charging points with a maximum power of 400kW, another four of 200kW, and another four of 50kW, which is the current optimal charging standard for most commercial models and which have a special length that is compatible with logistics vans. These features make it the most powerful urban electro-lane in Spain.
The electro-lighting station has received up to €2,000,000 of NextGenerationEU funds.
In addition, the technological equipment of Canalejas 360 includes the installation of large format screens, as well as advanced signage systems and ambient lighting. This equipment will allow the projection of high-impact multimedia content with information on the different services and possibilities of the hub, awareness campaigns on sustainable mobility and other advertising content (including for shops, restaurants and surrounding cultural venues).
All equipment complies with the eco-design requirements for computers or electronic displays, as well as with the European Commission's ICT Code of Conduct. In addition, measures will be taken to ensure that the support and maintenance of these displays will increase their durability, repairability and reusability. Up to €300,000 of European NextGenerationEU funds, channelled through the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, will be available for this action.
