The development of the Madrid Mobility 360 app will be an evolution of EMT Madrid's current mobility platform. This evolution is aimed at accelerating the digitisation of public transport services, as well as improving user experience by offering a useful and innovative tool: Madrid Mobility 360 integrates the different mobility services in Madrid, facilitating their use, as it allows users to discover all the mobility options for the same journey, use the integrated means of transport and pay for their use.
Promoting the digitisation of public transport services implies an improvement in management by the administration and the facilities and versatility of this digitisation also further a modal shift towards more sustainable modes of transport, as promoted by EMT.
The MaaS (Mobility as a Service) concept promoted by Madrid Mobility 360 offers advantages to the user, such as information on the intermodality and combined fare options available, as well as the reduction of waiting and transfer times. This concept also promotes more efficient public transport, which increases its service capacity and, therefore, its demand. Madrid Mobility 360 also seeks to reinforce the usability of the app to make it easier for citizens to use, with examples such as the implementation of a comprehensive incident management system and new billing, bonus and integration schemes.
In terms of the app's technical specifications, the front-end (visual and user interaction part) was developed based on the analysis of user experience, evaluations and comments and the evolution of the platform through a multimodal planner; the evolution of the back-end (internal part that processes the front-end) should also be highlighted. All of this is complemented by the use of BigData for mobility management, which will provide exhaustive knowledge of mobility data, taking into account all available modes and technologies.
The project will be financed by up to €4,451,400 of NextGenerationEU funds.
